Tech Barcelona is a private, nonprofit association that represents and helps connect Barcelona's tech ecosystem, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, researchers and institutions.
Our vision is to make Tech Barcelona the most trusted home for Barcelona's tech ecosystem — where people, companies and institutions feel supported on the journey, and high-trust connections lead to real opportunities.

2011
The conversation
An idea takes shape: Barcelona could become a major European tech hub if its founders, startups and investors organised around a shared ambition.
2013
The association is born
Miguel Vicente and lawyer Ignasi Costas promote the creation of the association, with Miquel Martí leading its development as CEO.
2016
Pier01 opens
The ecosystem gets a physical home at Palau de Mar, on the waterfront — where startups, corporates, investors and institutions sit side by side for the first time.
2017
Barcelona on the map
Recognition arrives and the city enters the top tier of European cities to start a company.
2019
Looking outward
International benchmarking against reference hubs, and a firm commitment to gender equity through #TechBcn4Women.
2020
Tech Spirit
When the Mobile World Congress is cancelled, the ecosystem responds in days — proof of how connected it had become.
2021
Tech Barcelona
A new name and a growing campus: the Urban Tech Campus expands across iconic buildings throughout the city.
